Naruto can mean “maelstrom”, and is also the name for a sliced stick of Kamaboko with a pink whirlpool design in the middle that is used as a topping for ramen which is also Naruto’s favorite food. The surname Uzumaki is a pun on “spiral”, while uzumaki refers to a three-dimensional spiral, like a whirlpool or vortex.

Everyone is checking out the forbidden area forest of death where the second part of the exam will be taking place. Konohamaru and gang sneak up behind Naruto in his completely obvious box.

The three introduce themselves: Moegi, the one who possesses the sex appeal of an adult and the female ninja from the senior group, Udon, the one who loves dividing numbers, and Konohamaru, the village’s number one genius ninja - the Konohamaru Corps. Naruto tries to explain that he doesn’t have time to play, but Konohamaru wants to ask Naruto questions for the school’s newspaper. Anko agrees to let them do the story.

Kakashi Hatake is Naruto’s new sensei. He tells the group that before they could become Genin, they will have to pass his survival test. The problem is, the test has a 66% chance of failure, and if they fail they’ll be sent back to the academy. To make matters even worse, one of them will fail no matter what.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura wait for their Jonin (high class ninja) to arrive and take them off to train. Naruto is impatient and sets up a booby trap. When the Jonin enters, the eraser Naruto strategically placed above the door hits him on the head. He tells them that his first impression of them is that he hates them.

Naurot wakes up and for a breakfast of ramen and milk. He excuses himself from breakfast and puts on his hitai-ate. Naruto sets out fer the next level of ninja school which is today he becomes a real ninja. It’s the orientation of all new ninjas in the Ninja Academy.

Konohanaru, Naruto’s temporary student, comes in contact with him as he made his way to the school. Konohamaru attempted to sneak up behind Naruto and attack him. He foolishly tripped on his own cloth instead. Naruto, full of pride, makes his headband distinct to Konohamaru. His headband signifies him as a real ninja.
